i have searched but have not found what i am looking for. is there a way to change the vin number in a pcm?

 

yes i have software to do it, it can be found online,, called change vin(for lt1 pcm's)

 

tunercat version 2.11 can do it, it is in the drop down menu

 

Yes in tuner cat, go Read PCM, Check Vin, Change Vin menu..

Just go to Change Vin and it will pop up a window and you put in your new vin.

 

sorry to hijack but is tunercats (OBDII) vin locked? I have a chance to pick up the software and cable and wanted to know. Can I get a definition file free from the 'net? What should I be careful when looking for tunercats software. TIA

 

I want to buy a new PCM from GM.

Can I flash it myself with LT1 edit or do I have to pay the GM dealer to flash it with a stock program ($250)?

Will flashing it with my current program put my VIN in it?

I do not have TunerCat, How can I get my VIN in the PCM?

 

If you cant find another way, Send it my way and give me your vin number and I will do it for no charge if you pay for both ways of shipping the PCM via UPS..

Im only in Indy, IN so its not like im clear across the country.. lol
