car won't start (security issue)
car won't start (security issue)
Hey guys. I have a 2000 3.8 camaro with 137K miles on it. Been a great car but of late it has been giving me some trouble. Every once in a while, the car won't start. The battery checked out fine, same with the alternator. But when it does this, I think the securtiy system is not letting the car start. The radio will come on, the horn works, and the lights work just fine, but it won't turn over. Then, after I sit there for about 20 minutes, I will try it again and it will start. I tried dissabling the sensitivity of the alarm but that didn't do it.
Thanks for the help.
Thanks for the help.
Re: car won't start (security issue)
Its VATS, try cleaning your ignition key where the two pins are and the cylinder. if they are dirty they dont make good contact. If you have a spare key try that one for a while. If it persists, do a search on vats bypass.
Re: car won't start (security issue)
my car is having similar issues. it ran fine but then one day it would turn over then die or idle hard. and now it won't even turn over. radio, headlights all work but I get nothing on my dash including no security light. any help would be great.
Re: car won't start (security issue)
Have no idea what you are driving, but sounds like it could be the ignition switch. You need to get out a meter and see what is getting power and how much.
