car gets too much knock
car gets too much knock
ok, I had a buddy look at my program today on my car.... I guess I was getting knock somewhere because my timing was advanced... and it was advancing my timing farther. He pulled some timing, and disabled my Knock Sensor... he was saying running NA that should be fine, but does anyone know if that will hurt anything if I'm running N2O? Will the LT4 KM help much? What causes Knock?
How do I make my KM not as sensative?
What is "fast attack rate vs rpm" table?

Ok, the computer was pulling anywhere from 3-12* of timing at high map and rpms. I took out a couple degrees of timing (used the chart i created for my cam), and also disabled the knock sensor. I am convinced that the knock was false, but told josh to run some 100 octane through before uploading new program to see if the knock re-occurs. If it does, its false.
I assume there is a table to lessen the onset of timing retard. Is it the attack rate table? That was my guess but am not sure.
He and i both agree that with n20, he would be better off with the knock sensor working, yet am not sure how to get rid of any false knock without going lt4 KM or resistor trick. Ideas/comments?

Is the SES light on? I was getting a $hitload of knock because my sensor was shot... On the other hand I replaced it, and now im constistantly getting knock between 2000-2000 everytime I go thru that RPM range in WOT. I have an 8.3:1 compression and usually run 87, so pulled back a few * and put in 93... the knock was still there so for somereason im getting false knock in that RPM range.
