I have just now got my project up and running from a 4+ year downtime and no I cant get my laptop toe communicate with my ECM.

I did change laptops in that time span but I have all of the original programs and such.

My new laptop doesnt have a serial connector so I had to buy a USB-Serial adapter. I thought that might be the problem but it works on everything else I have tried that used a serial connection.

Any ideas? It is a laptop running windows 7 if that matters.

The car is a 95 TA so it has the obd1 computer and obd2 connector. The cable i have worked without a problem years ago and is still in great shape.

What software are you trying to run.. If TunerCat search on 'Tunercat Windows 7' and it will detail installation requirements W-7 in the FAq section.

 

Just trying to use Freedman to check my codes right now. Going to be using tuner cat to redo my programming tho so I will look into that.
