Can you fry a PCM while reading it?

My buddy made me a new tune to try to help eliminate the rich problem people with big cams have. I was trying to read my pcm and it was reading fine. I usually pull the fan fuse while the car is doing its thing to prevent running the battery down, plus the fans are just annoying. Well while it was reading i accidently pulled the pcm fuse instead of the fan fuse. I know it was stupid. I tried starting the car and it would just crank and crank and crank. I then disconnected the battery for a minute or so and tried to restart it. The car started and ran fine. I then decided to try reading it again. Now the best it will do is reach about 40% and then get an error. I think its like error 61 or something. I tried just driving the car for a while and flashing it the next weekend. The same thing happens. The reading will only get to 40% or so then it will stop. I haven't had the guts to just try flashing the pcm with the new tune. I was wondering is there anyway i could of caused damage to this pcm to prevent it from ever reading right or taking a tune? I've read and flashed my car 5-10 times with out any problems before and now i have this. Any help? thanks guys.

No. Unless while reading, a huge power surge occurs, then maybe
