Re: Can someone look at my datalog?

Wes, I looked at the 2 .bin files you sent and neither are stock, I don't like the EGR settings , both files are the same, but look incorrect for disabling EGR. That may be the cause of no BLM Cells 16-18. I attached the correct disable settings below. The files you sent have modified idle speed, low speed down shift, some high end timing has 5* lower advance in the HP file and + 2* higher in the stock, but only in 2-3 cells not a specific operating MAP/RPM range IAC park position changes at low temps are changed?, Throttle follower settings at higher speeds are altered, and DFCO spark retard is higher. Sort of scattered changes that don't look coordinated towards any specific direction. EG: Idle in N/P is set to 587 instead of stock 550, 37 RPM is not really noticeable and not needed for a stock setup. Your fueling (MAF) tables are OK and are stock. I would suggest loading the stock .bin I sent, adjusting the speedometer settings to fit your tires and rear gearing, when the popup to adjust all tables comes up say yes. That should adjust the shift tables for you. Crank up DataMaster and you should be in BLM Cell 16 at idle, if not let us know..

EGR Disable settings, only four (4) fields need changing to '0' all orhers are the stock settings.

Re: Can someone look at my datalog?

Bob, I will do that. I will just take all the numbers for speed from the file I have now and transfer them to the stock file. Also my VIN number. Is there anything else I need to transfer to the stock file? Maybe sift points? I have not tried to disable the EGR. Actually I fixed it because it was throwing a code. Is there any benefit on a stock car disabling the EGR? Right now I am shooting for best MPG. There are no emissions checks where I live. When I bought my hypertech it killed my PCM the first time I used it. I sent the PCM off to hypertech and they fixed it by flashing to "stock" I am wondering it the file they flashed it with wasn't stock?

Re: Can someone look at my datalog?

I was able to get the bin file from a friends stock 95 Z28 A4 with 2.73 gearing. I thought that would solve all of my issues. It did not. My old bin still seams to be the best but I cant get it to enter cells 16 -18. This makes my idle bad.

Problems I am having with the bin from my friend are weird shifting and on down hill driving I am getting a ton of engine braking. I think I can tune out the shifting issues I have. Would a 2000 stall converter cause any issues in stock tuning vs a stock converter? My biggest issue is when driving on a downhill grade the engine braking is very high and really slows the car down. My original bin does not have this issue.

Could someone look at the text file that shows the differences and maybe give me some tips on what to change to make either one of the bins work correctly? I see no differences on the EGR settings as stated from Bob.

DaOne, a quick question, what software are you using to load the code (.bin files) I'm still trying to figure out why you don't go into BLM cells 16-18. As far as engine breaking on a stock .bin you should see the TCC disengage in 3rd and 4th at about 40-44 MPH with TPS less than 50%. TCC should never engage in 2nd. Therefore no significant engine breaking under 40 MPH. Look at TCC Enable in the status bits of DataMaster 1= clutch engaged 0= clutch disabled. What make is your converter, 2K is almost stock (1500) so there should not be any tuning required.

I commute up and down a hilly pass and on the downhill with my friends bin It feels like I am on the brakes quite hard at about 65 MPH. I am slowing down very rapidly going down a large grade. Car literally sounds like a jake brake. If I put it into neutral I pick up speed fast. My original bin was perfect for this drive as it never did this. I have been looking at "TCC DC" as I figured that was my PWM that locked up the converter? I also tried setting the TPS 0% enable and disable TCC to the same as 2nd to make the converter fully disengage when I foot my foot off the gas. This worked and really helped with my deceleration problem however my converter would never go back into lockup when I brought the throttle back up. Its as if the 0% table canceled out the rest of the table. I will do some more logging and post my results. I also noticed that it looks like my DFCO is set to never come on (DFCO Enable Coolant Temp. Threshold is set very low) with my original bin. This might explain why I dont feel the deceleration while running my original bin. My converter is nothing special. Just a remanufactured 2000 stall converter.
