can i use a 95 akm cable to tune obdII conversion?
can i use a 95 akm cable to tune obdII conversion?
im converting my obdII to OBDI, i have tuner cats and i have the plug that works on my 95 Z28 can i tune my 97 with this plug with the obdI conversion?
see every where i read it says it will not work, remember im replacing my 97 OBDII computer for a OBDI computer. i tried to just plug in my 16 pin connector from my 95 into my 97 and it didnt recognize anything, so im assuming the pins on the cable side have to be moved around, but to where?
Well the confusion comes from the fact that 95 is a changover year. I have a a obd2 style cable built for obd1. My car is a 96 with an obd1 pcm, I have done what you are describing. The correct cable for your car will look like obd2 but will not be wired that way. You should not have to change anything.

That is a link to the exact cable I use for obd1 conversions as well as 1995 models. You could have issues somewhere else in the system, just a thought.

i already have my 95's aldl cable and it didnt recognize the obdI pcm inside my SS (97), thats where my confusion comes from. ive tuned on my 95 Z28 a ton with this cable and this is realy frustrating! hopefully when i go and work on it again today it will work. thanks for the help!
