Can a car with an LS1 edit program possibly fall in and out of tune?
I know this sounds strange, but it really seems like my car that has been LS1 tuned has power losses at times. It happened on more than one occasion. I brought it back to get retuned and everything was fine. I was wondering if there was a knock retard occuring that was tapering the timing a little. Sound feasible? I was also told that on certain occasions when that happens (the PCM forgets it's new program) that putting in a half a tank of gas actually resets itself back to performance tuning. Comments?
First and foremost you will have to Atap the car. Trying to guess why you are getting power loss is just pissing in the wind. Pay close attention to knock, timing, and Ltrims. Also you may want to check your fuel pressure.
I cant stress enough the importance of AutoTap. Your just blind without it. I have the EFILive Pro/Bi-Directional and it is beyond perfect for datalogging. I got it for $335. Yeah, it was a bit on the pricey side, but I get $25 a pop to datalog for people.
Good luck.

Makes good sense. The guy who tuned my car has it, and saw a slight loss of timing. but he didn't think the loss to be that big of a deal. However, we all know when that loss of the seat of your pants feelings is fading. It just can't be put into numbers (so to speak). So I am hoping to have it act up when I see him next week and dyno it then to see if it is all in my head.
