Can a cable from a Snapon scanner be used for tuning with my laptop?

Hello,

I have a Snapon MT-2500 (Red Brick) scanner and it has a 15 pin connector that is tied into the Snapon OBD2 connector, but it also uses there own special personality keys. Has anyone else tried using the cable with any luck? Should I just order up the cable I need from akmcables and be done with it?

Thanks
