A/C compressor not coming on?

I checked the relay its fine. I checked the compressor it isn't stuck. I used a jumper wire and it came on like that, so I have narrowed it down to the power wire that activates the relay. But, is there something else in line to the relay that could be messed up or am I gonna have to replace the entire wire?

TIA
Archie

EDIT: Is this thew right forum or should I be in LT1 Tech?

Check for pressure in the system.

Try turning on the defroster and see if it comes on then. If that doesn't work, check and see if there are any trouble codes that will not allow the ecm to enable the a/c compressor relay.

I had the same problem last year , it was a wire behind the pcm ( under the hood ) that went to the temp sensor in the dash , somthing rubbed it , or caused it to break , so check that wire I dont rember the color of the wire , but look a sensor w/wire behind the glove box( you have to remove a plastic pice to see it) a big one

There are some scanners that will not check the A/C low pressure code nad that code must be deleted if you had previous problems.. I suggest (to leave doubt out) disconnect the pcm for a few mins... A FEW!

Not to be smart or anything, but how do you know you have pressure? You can have pressure but still be low enough so that the compressor won't come on.
