Building an Bench EFI

In my physics class we have to do a demonstration on something to do with electronics. I was thinking on doing a demonstration on an EFI system and building a bench EFI ( meaning: have fuel injectors firing).
So my idea was to use the computer/injectors/fuel rail out of my 95 fbody. By hooking it up to a battery or an AC to DC converter power it.
Im running into an issue with running a crank position sensor, anyone have any idea on how i could get something to turn with a controled speed and be able to use it. also wat would i shoot my injectors into, idealy it would be a something transparent and something i could run back into a fuel cell so it was looped and contiouse.
if anyone has any comments/questions/ideas please let me know. Thanks

i did sort of this on my car without the engine running to test timing behaviour with the 2bar mods, basically all I did was use an old Opti distributor and and plugged it into the harness then spun it with a drill or electric motor... worked perfect. I pulled my injector fuse so I wouldnt be pumping all that gas into an engine that wasnt even turning over... I wonder if you could use water in a mini tank instead of gas... might all hold up and not corrode, you could use a 2 liter bottle with the injector sitting at the top and a hole 1/2 way up the side with a hose connected to take the overflow back into the mini-fuel tank.

I like the water bottle idea, but unless i got an extra set of injectors i dont want to run water through mine.
It would also be awesome be able to control the rpm or at least be able to read the rpm.
Also will the computer read down to 100rpm? so i could have the injectors fire slower and thus be able to show it off a little better

I came up with a list of ways i want to simulate some sensors
For the:
~M.AF. (Mass air flow sensor): I intend to run a variable Voltage source, in place of the Thermotemp resistor (the M.A.F.'s hotwire) . The thermotemp resistor will heat up by the current being put through it, and by raising the temperature the resistance will go up. This wire is cooled by the air flowing into the motor, and lowering resitance.
Now because of V=I*R if we raise the resistance, the voltage goes down. There is a table of input voltages from the M.A.F. stored in the computer, that tell the computer fairly accurately how much air flow is going into the engine, and the computer can adjust fuel and spark.

~Injectors: The injectors are hooked up to a 12v source on the positive injectors, and then hooked back up to the computer where when the computer wants to fire it will ground out the injecotr and thus allow the injector to fire. I intend to have the injectors fire into a liter bottle and be fed back to my fuel tank that where ill have a fuel pump feeding

Im having problems figuring out a simulator for my crank angle sensor, i was considering using a square wave generator. But dont know really how the Cranks angle sensor works, so if someone could it explain it or link me to a site explaining its use that would be great.

Also what kind of saftey precautions should i take in order not to fry my computer.

, please respond with answers, questions, of comments.

I also request anyone who has left over parts to an EFI system and are just sitting there donate them to me, or sale them to me for cheap.

Any input is greatly appreciated.
