Are there any negative or adverse effects from locking the WOT BLMs?

I've been told to do so, and there reasons all sound good, but there are no negatives that I can find.

Are there any?

 

I run the BLM locker on a 97ss 383-D1 MM6 OBD2. The last verson 2.2 of LT1_edit had this feature. Also, the High MAF frquency threshold cal change was quite a help also. Also, I modified the BLM mapping cal for the FI application, with, a re-cal of the MAF curve to lean out the AFR in losed loop & NO_WOT. Cannot seam to think of any negatives in my app. B.
