BLM Boundaries HELP

OK, I need help, OBD II, 96Z 383 584 llift and duration 242 with 113 lobe separation, 373 gear. high stall TC 3200. have my blm's set at 32 50 80, 700-1200-2000. I know this is wrong but not sure what to do. getting bad lean above 2000 rpm on bank 1 more than 2. the car idles at 65-75 Map, 950-1050 rpm, at a cruise of 45mph I'm at 2050 rpm and the Map is around 57, at 52mph tc locks up, take on up to 58mph, rpms 2050, Map goes to 60.
so where should I set the BLM boundaries too. I'm thinking for rpm 1000-1800-2200, Map 55-55-60. a big cam is a problem when it comes to tuning. any one got any ideas.

It takes some testing to get your boundaries better. You will never get them all used equally but you can get them used better.

Try:

MAP: 55 - 65 - 75

RPM: 1500 - 1800 - 2500

and go from there.

Remember the boundaries (as is 95% of PCM programming) are for part throttle driving. You have to adjust based on your style. Example: I rarely drive below 2K RPM because my cam does not like it down there so my boundaries are set at 1800 - 2400 - 2800.

Don't worry about the split BLM's for now. They are probably caused by the part throttle driving. That is very common with big cams. The split will go away NORMALLY at idle and at WOT if everything is mechanically set up correctly.

As a reference with my cam, I idle at around 58 KPa or so, am dead on with my BLM's at idle, have up to a 10 split during part throttle and is even at WOT.

Once you get your boundaries set and can get better data in mutiple areas, then we can start correctly diagnosing your potential lean problem you mentioned.

Ben

can you tell me a little more on how these boundaries and cells work, should I be using the VE tables or the MAF, or both. seems the MAF does the most change for me car. still learning.

Got your email. Not sure about your question. The tables to change the boundaries are separate from VE or MAF and have nothing to do with them. The boundaries are exclusively MAP and RPM related. It does not care what the air flow is at the time it is in any cell.

Does that help clarify?
