Big Problem!
Big Problem!
I have a compuetr from Bryan at pcmforless. You get a comp and send your core back. Well, I just used tunercat to check the VIN info and itd wrong! The VIN is wrong and the descript. says its a Caprice classic sedan/wagon! What should I do to get the correct info? I have a tune from Madwolf that was most recently uploaded. could the tune he sent me have the wrong info on it? Not sure if it was pcmforless or Madwolf.
HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!
HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hello,
the tune doesn't carry the VIN number, only the PCM. So your tune can be out of any PCM with any VIN number, but if your PCM for instance has 2G1FPXXXXXX, it will take the 2G1FPXXXXX.
Having the wrong VIN number in your PCM won't hurt the car in any way. It's there for reference only.
What most likely happened is the PCM Bryan sent you was out of a Caprice and he forgot to change the VIN number, or you never gave him one. It happens.

Yes you can change it. Drop me a line with your VIN number and I'll let you know what to do.
