Freescan and Excel to log and view data, and Tunercat to program for me, cheap and gets the same job done anything else will.

IMO, TTS Datamaster is the best software there is of its type. And I wouldn't care if I had to go through 30 keystrokes until it starts logging...

I dont like Datamaster overall, one feature which is semi-usefull, depending, is the real time display. You can change what items are displayed, and thier color schemata, however I can't really look at my seat doing over 100 MPH very reliably anyway, even with my 15.1" laptop screen.

I hate the default export methods and headers HATE HATE HATE, and honestly that is THEE most important thing to me. I want clean data in Excel and I find it much easier to add/remove/view fields from the data in Excel when it comes from Freescan. I do not want to have to clean up the freaking file every single time, to get it to lay everything out the way I want it, I cannot understand why they use such an export method, when much of what you desire to do with excel means it has to rely on a clean header.

I like to graph out thing with Excel anyway, so the pidly real time stuff is not enough to get the job done, as nice as it is overall as a program I just can't stand it. Give me the very basic, rudimentary and FREE Freescan, and then sit down when I'm done logging to look at my logs in Excel. That is all I need to get the job done.

If you like Datamaster, you can taylor many things in the program, which is also nice, but I just dont like it as a whole.

I've never been able to get freescan to work..

But onething I dont like of datamaster is 1) keystrokes as said earlier

2) I cannot see all the stored blm values of all the cells at the same time...

You cannot use the knock retard alert while scanning... Its just not useful when you are watching data...

I dont like that it has some problems detecting the com ports...

It is made for 1 person logs and 1 person drives... Although.. that is the way almost all programs are designed.. but the knock alert would be useful because with the corner of your eye you could see a big or huge red graph!!!!!!

For a one person... Scanmaster LT1, and I still have to get my hands on one of them..

I've used Freescan on probably 6 or 7 different machines, never had a problem that wasn't fixable, but then again I work with computers for a living. One thing that would be nice for Datamaster too, is working in higher resolutions, the expansion they offer only goes out to I think 1024x768 or thereabouts.
