to bleed the ABS module you need a tech1 and to do something with the ABS module through the tech1.

i don't have a tech1 nor have access to a tech1. are there any laptop programs that can do what i need to do?

are you saying you need a tech1 to bleed your brakes at the ABS unit?

I am also wondering if there is any software that can diagnose or display error codes from the ABS computer. As for needing a tech 1 after bleeding your brakes or while bleeding your brakes I have no idea, "maybe to clear the ABS error codes".

Going on 4 years with my ABS light on right now. GM seems to think I need a new ABS motor assembly, so I opted to get one from a junkyard instead of paying them $700.00 and that still didn't fix the problem, now I get intermittent flashing of my brake and low traction light along with dimming of my headlights.

I feel your pain, damn you ABS, you are like a knife in my side.

Mine was doing the intermittent SES light too. I would every now and then pull and plug back in the front left ABS sensor and that would fix it for a while.

One day I pulled the rear ABS sensor on the Differential and cleaned it up/went to the front and pulled both connectors, cleaned them up and secured them with Zip Locks (one plastic hold for the wiring was broken allowing the wire to move back and forth) and since that day the ABS has been working properly. I think it has been since August Last Year.

I'll have to try removing all my abs plugs and cleaning them. I have replaced my right front wheel hub because it was throwing a code saying the sensor was bad, after replacement the light still stayed on. The shop I took it to just hooked up the scanner and read the codes off to me, it was some aftermarket scan tool made by mac?/craftsman?, I really don't remember.

I was getting ready to start the car the other day, turned the key far enough to power on the accessories, and heard a clicking under the dash on the drivers side accompanied by flashing of the abs, low trac, and brake lights. Has anyone ever had an ABS computer go bad?

on my friends 95, when he did a 8.8 rear install we had to bleed his brakes and at first he got ABS codes because there was still air in the lines. After several tries he finally got the ABS light to go away and never used any tech 1 to clear off the code.
