Air Bag and Service Vehicle light

Hey Guys,

I have a little bit of a problem, but not sure where to start. I've noticed that sometimes when I start my car the "Air Bag" light will come on and stay on...sometimes it will just blink like it usually dose when you start the car and then go off.

Well today the air bag light didn't come on but while i was driving the "Service Vehicle" light came on...this is the light that is in the Tacometer not the SES light. No codes are in the computer...any ideas where I should start?

Might want to add some basic info like the year and model of the vehicle.

Just because its acting flakey like that, I'd say your air bag module is probably on its way out. They do weird things when they die. Usually if something else is wrong (broken wire, dead component, etc) then the light just stays on. Could be an airbag system component has a poor ground as well.

I'd start by finding a module you can use just to swap with yours to see what happens. If it acts the same, its likely a bad ground. If it fixes it, your module was going mental.

Have it scanned first, see if any codes come up.

How many air bag modules are there? I know there is a sensor (or what I think is one) underneath the center console.
