Accel DFI Gen VI Question

I have the chance to get an Accel DFI Gen VI computer, harness, O2 sensor and optispark connector. It's part #74022-L .. Is this the part # I would need to use it with the stock computer so the stock computer still controls A/C and what not?

Anything I should be asking?? I've never dealt with an LT1 DFI system before. Have a few friends with it on their Mustangs and trucks..

THanks,

You may want to contact the guys at Turbo People. They seem to be best guys in the business regarding DFI.

Nah, New York City area .. But, Job flies all around the country if the price is right .. Supposedly, his dad helped develop the last DFI and the new one .. He seriously was awesome .. Had my friend's car tuned perfect in less than an hour ..

i have only ever run the stock computer until now, in the spring i will be running the dfi. i ordered the piggy back harness from fasttrackperformance tonight, i should have it next friday

sounds neat, i can use the stock pcm for the other controls and not have to add a complete new harness
not cheap but i think it will keep things under the hood clean

No but at as stated earlier they are located in NY. I know Job Jr usually flies out to Pande's performance (there work is shady). I had him look at my car a few years ago and the guy is a wiz.

Cal Hartline flew out a few months ago and tuned some cars here in MI. Every car he tuned increased on an average of 100 rwhp. He is awesome and very knowledgeable when it comes to both DFI and FAST systems.

I would like to here more about your suspension setup and also what you have done to your T-56 to hold the abuse of your hp. Thanks in advance.

This tuner you are talking about may be a complete wiz, a tuning genius. But FWIW, there is no way "tuning" will regularly net a gain of 100+rwhp unless things were totally screwed up in the first place. Just warning you so you don't expecting something from the DFI that you aren't going to get.

Some tuners do an initial "low ball" run to make the gains seem bigger. It's easy to do.

You are correct to an extent. All I am saying is what I have seen. I am not saying every car he tunes will increase by 100 hp. There are many big name tuners out there that have there science of tuning. Both Job and Cal are great example of people who have both mastered DFI and FAST systems. They know all the little shortcuts and tricks of making the most out of your combination. Saying the cars were all screwed up is wrong because some of these cars were originally tuned by good tuners. Cal came along and made the changes he knew would work and made way more power.

Unlike alot of tuners Cal is honest and will call it as he sees it. If he looks at your program and sees there is nothing left than he will tell you. He has many proven FAST cars out there. He is responsible for tuning the fastest Impala, some of the fastest Grand Nationals and some of the fastest Mustangs in the country.
