A4-M6 swap - running problem - computer??

Hey guys,

I just did the A4 to M6 swap - and everything for the most part is running fine. I have NOT flashed the computer over to the M6 program yet.

My only problem is that when pushing in the clutch and slowing down - the motor wants to die out. I sometimes even have to put the car in nuetral and keep pushing the throttle down while stopping in order to keep it from stalling out. Other than that - the car idles fine, runs fine, accelerates fine, and cruises fine.

Does this problem have something to do with the fact that I have not re-flashed the computer over to a M6 program yet?? My car is a 1997 camaro with the LT1. I was told by someone that once the computer is re-flased, then this stalling problem while pushing the clutch in and slowing down will go away - is this true??

It depends on what is causing this problem.

But I could see how this could cause a problem - the PCM has inputs that tell it which gear the automatic transmission is in, and it adjusts idle strategy based on those inputs (e.g. if it is in DRIVE or PARK/NEUTRAL). Since those inputs likely aren't hooked up, or reporting the correct information anymore, it may be choosing the wrong idle strategy.
