98-02 Firebird Cluster in a 93-97??

Will it work because the 98-02's are digital odo????

I was looking at clusters on ebay again and noticed all the 97's are digital mostly.. would those work to??? trying to upgrade from 110 mph to 150 mph

Best place to post this is the appereance section. Theres some guys there that have done it there. With that said, a 97 cluster would be your best bet wiring wise but you would have to swap your dash for a 97+ also. And to add to that Ive been told LS1 clusters wont work at all but I'm not sure if it's been proven. In the end youre in for more than just a cluster swap. Making the wiring work and swapping dashes would be in your future.

itll require a 94up car. also the ls1 dash will have different pulse division and the outputs on the pcm will have to be rescaled. any good tuning shop should be able to adjust it though

What tables have to be adjusted? What exactly would the tune shop have to do?

no tables just constants. As far as i know tunercat should have them in the 94-95 eeb file. there should be a tach ouput pulse divisor and a speedometer output pulse divisor.

Just got done looking over the constants. Doesnt look easy but I suppose it could be done. Opens up alot of doors because the 97 digi cluster isnt easy to get, at least it wasnt for me when I was intrested in doing the swap.

Mabey you should ask your tuner guy if he can even do it. Or just find a 97 digi odo.

How does the OBD 1 computer work in a 96/97 then?

All I changed was my knock sensor, the odometer and all gauges work fine.
