96 hypertech work on a 94?

96 hypertech work on a 94?

Will a 96 hypertech power programmer work on a 94 z?

nope...dont think so. OBD I vs OBD II and I think different connectors. Someone, correct me if Im wrong. If I were you...Ide buy LT1 edit and a laptop. Much more useful than HPP.

not only is the aldl connector different but odb2 reads more codes and I believe they are different in code, does that make sense?

Absolutely different, 94/95 SHOULD work together (other than the fact that the ALDL connector is NOT the same) but as always check with the MFG.

96+ OBD II - whole new ballgame

actually the 95 and 95 HPP are 2 seperate part numbers. If you have a 94 HPP it will not work on a 95, and vice versa, don't know why but thats just the way HyperTech did it.

The connector on a 94 is OBD I and the 95 connector is OBD II but with an OBD I PCM, so without playing with it, it will not work. However I see no reason ultimately that it should not work, since there are so many used ones out there due to dissatisfied customers though, I'm sure there is no reason to go through such trouble.
