94z tunercat shiftpoints????

I have a 94z A4, 3.73's, 3800 stall. I am currently on stock tune and I am hitting rev at wot. What all changes do I need to make in Tunercat for shift point adjustment? Or if anyone has the same setup, could you share with me how you have your shift points set. Thanks in advance...

First, open Tools/Speed Calibration. Enter in your correct tire size. Next, enter the correct Rearend Ration (3.73). Now, press Calculate. Then, press Apply.

That will get your speedometer and rpm gauge corrected and should keep you from banging your rev meter.

Have you done any corrections for the speedometer since the change to the 3.73 gears?

Yeah I have changed that, but haven't loaded the tune yet. I used to have a Hypertech and it shifted fine, changed rear tires and adjusted the hypertech accordingly and it was hitting the rev limiter. So I ended up having to adjust the shift points to where it felt it was actually shifting way too early, but ran it's fastest time. I was just curious since I am new to tuner cat, if there were more changes that you guys knew that would for sure keep me from hitting it. And to see if anyone with a similar setup has found any changes that have greatly improved the performance. Thanks for your replys, I will load the tune and see what that does.

this could be one of two things. either you need to adjust the the shift points accordingly(as you stated)

or you are having the dreaded high stall problem that obd1 pcm have.

what tables are you useing to change your shift points.

email me your bin. file and ill send it right back. but before you send it make a copy of it. incase this doesnt work and you can reload the one you currently have and be back where you started.

always make copys of files and put them on a floppy disc just in case trust me. been there done that.

send it to me and let me look at it.

I don't think I have the high stall problem because with the hypertech at WOT it would shift perfect. That only changed once I got a different set of tires on the rear(drag radials). But even after that I made some changes with the hypertech and it stopped hitting the rev limiter. I haven't loaded any programming yet. All I have done so far is read the pcm and started looking through the different tables. Basically my question was, which places do I make my changes for the shift points? I have changed my rev limiter, and corrected my speedo, but I am wanting to change my shift points before loading the new program on my car. From looking throught the tables, what I am confused about is there are so many different tables to make these changes and I just don't know where all to make the shift point corrections for them to be effective.
