93 Stock Chips Question

Does anyone know what the differences are between the stock chips for 93 M6 F-bodies that are labeled BDLD and BDLF? Is it related to the gear ratios?

Thanks.

M6s had the same gear size -- 3.42. My guess is that they may have different speed limiters or something else.
You wouldn't happen to have any of those calibrations, would you?
If so, please email it to me:

Thanks.

Actually, I believe in 93 the gear ratio was 3.23, not 3.42. Not until 94 was the 3.42 gear offered, which was due to the change in the 1st and 2nd ratios in the tranny.

I stand corrected. Yes, 93s had 3.23s. Although I've never ran across one, it looks like they might've had 2.73 with manuals too.

here's the link I'm looking at.

'93s had two 6spd options. The M28 had the LOW 1st gear and was rated at 350ft/lbs and the M29 had the "viper ratio" gears inside and was rated at 400ft/lbs.
The M28 came with 2.73s and the M29 came with 3.23 gears.

I'm thinking that the BDLD chip is found in 3.23 cars, and the BDLF chip is found in 2.73 cars. Can anyone confirm this?

My 93 M6 Z28 has the 2.73 gears and a BDLF chip. Thanks.
