60# mototron injectors on a stock motor
60# mototron injectors on a stock motor
So im in the process of turboing the car. Got the injectors for a great price used. rather then have them sitting around collecting dust and possibly getting gummy i put them in the car. with tunercat i changed the injector constant to 60# and the minimum pulse width to 0.5 ms as per advice from the injectors previous owner. to my suprise the car idles flawless and actually seems to pull smoother then with the stockers. BUT....... if i quickly stab the gas to 1/2 throttle i get a slight hesitation. But pulling away normally from a stop light or flooring it produce no bog what so ever. It acutally seems more responsive flooring from a dig now then it did with the stockers(used to get a little GULP before the revs picked up).
What table would be the best way to clean up the part throttle response?

I fought this same problem to the bitter end... right before the bitter end I WON!!
Somewhere in the below posts is the information your looking for (referring to Lean Tip In or Accel Shot).
Basically the PCM software currently avail for LT1 does not include Pump Shot / Accel Shot adjustment... so you have to trick the PCM into adding more Tip In (fast throttle increase) by lowering the injector flow rate and leaning out the VE values to compensate (in SD mode of course)
This also worked for a few others who tried it (also suffering from similar problems..)

It's either that or the %VE values are too low in the MAP region that 50% THrottle applies to you... This is all assuming you ditched your MAF.

im still running the maf so i dont understand what the problem is. but i do see these mototrons labeled as 60's 63's and even 65's. maybe i should do a fuel pressure test just to see where i am. any other sugestions?
One quick easy thing would be to unplug the MAF while it's running and see that that does. This forces SD mode and uses VE tables.
If it runs the same then your VE's are dialed in pretty good. If not then keep it unplugged and use VEMaster a few times to get them dialed in.
There's a bunch of different opinions floating around about what VE's do in MAF mode, but there's a chance the PCM looks at VE tables for a split second and if they're out of spec then it could contribute to the problem.
Second thing I would so is leave the MAF unplugged and lower injector flow rating by 5, see what affect it has.. then lower it 5 again. Keep doing that until you see improvement, if you see improvement then run VEMaster to get your VE's back in line since you basically enriched everything.
