6 speed conversion cags, and reverse lockout
6 speed conversion cags, and reverse lockout
I did a search on this and couldnt come up with anything (maybe im retarded). Will i run into any problems with cags or the reverse lockout in the conversion? FWIW i swapped the complete 6 speed trans harness over as well and have the pedals hooked up for the neutral saftey switch. Any help would be appreciated, Thanks again Prorac1
Re: 6 speed conversion cags, and reverse lockout
I used this guide.
http://www.afrashteh.com/tranny_pics/T56.htm
I don't know how using the 6spd harness will change things. I had to add a wire to my 94 pcm to make the reverse lockout work as there wasn't a wire going to the correct connection on the pcm.
I used tunercat to turn off cags. I turned off the switches for cags and the shift light. I also raised the temp. and speed for cags activation high enough so it should never try to activate.
I'm sure you know but you will need a 6spd program for the pcm. If you don't do it yourself the tuners on this board can reprogram your pcm.

Re: 6 speed conversion cags, and reverse lockout
Thanks, yeah, that was the guide i used before, but i couldnt remember it. Yep, thats my next hunt, a 94 6 speed tune with 4.10 gears, bolt on car. Let me know if anybody has one to share with a feller. Thanks for the info, Prorac1
Re: 6 speed conversion cags, and reverse lockout
Mean LT1,
Are you using LT1 edit to do that?
I did the conversion and the only problem I have is a code for the cags.
I've tried raising the settins in LT1 edit to disable it but it hasn't worked.

Re: 6 speed conversion cags, and reverse lockout
Why not just push a 2.2Kohm resistor into the harness connector for the skip shift solenoid = no code. The diagnostic just checks the continuity in the circuit.
Re: 6 speed conversion cags, and reverse lockout
Maybe I'm missing something.
I have a A4 harness and I don't have a cags connector.
I could buy a connector but I need to know which wires
to use for the connector.
Do you know which wires to use from the A4 harness after I cut off the tranny plug in?
Thanks

Find the wire that connect to PCM pin B13, and connect the resistor from there to a good ground.

UH I think you took something wrong. I was just trying to clarify and give more info to get more info to fix this problem
Thanks
I'll give this a try
