4th gen keyless on 3rd gen?

is it possible to somehow get a 4th gen keyless entry system to work on a 3rd gen camaro? or is the system built into the computers on the 4th gens? i would like a later 4th gen style key fob, like the ones for my 97 SS.

any info would be great thanks?

ps the car i want to put them on is my 1991 Z28

I'd love to do that with my 89 GTA. Though mine would be a little diiferent as I will soon have the LS1 in there.

93-95 is the only system I am very familiar with. It is a seperate module located behind the kick panel one the passenger side. From what I've seen, it wouldn't be very hard to adapt it to any other GM car. From what I've seen the 96 and up is also a seperate module and I find the remotes to be more reliable so it is probably the best to use. With the proper wiring diagram you should be able to adapt either system.
