how do I get the windshield wipers off my car so I can lift up the cowl piece to check my vin number?

Place a folded rag right next to where wiper arm attaches to drive nub. Get a long screwdriver. Put your left hand on the rag, palm up, and place screwdriver across your palm so that the tip of the screwdriver ends up under wiper arm head. Use your right hand to smack down on handle of screwdriver and it will pop the wiper arm up.

I also like to place rags around the operation area cause sometimes you smack too hard and the wiper flies up and lands with a thud. You also want to keep a good grip on the screwdriver with your left hand so it doesn't do the same.

 

Your Vin # is in the door jam on the drivers side. Look up by the hinges it should be there.

Wiper there is a litte tab the is stciking out of the arm itself at the base.You have to pop that forward a wiggle (fight) to get it to come off the splines.
