on a 69 camaro i beleive it may have something to do with engine. but i could be wrong again "XX7"

Are you sure you don't mean X-77?

X-77 was used on Norwood Camaros on the cowl tag to signify RPO Z/28 ordered cars.

I've never heard of any RPO codes beginning with "X". (Although RPO DX1 was used for non-SS striping in 1969.)
