Best way is to use a stop watch or go to the track. If you go with a stopwatch, don't do it in 1st so wheelspin doesn't throw things off. Better to do it in 2nd from say 2k - 5k. As you crank in more initial timing, you have to be careful you don't get excess total timing > 3k rpm. You also have to experiment with the curve to try and bring in timing as quickly as possible.
Tuning is a lot of work, but it's the difference between a car that runs 15.7s and one that gets well into the 13s.

ok we have another problem....we took it to get it emmissions tested and its way rich....and we have a miss in the motor. i pulled all the plugs and they seem to look fine...whats the best way to test the plug wires...they seem to all be in good shape still. i know the carb needs tunnin done. but im not sure about the miss.
