water pump

I Have 67 Camaro SS with a 406 small block, (not strock obviously)Its been used for racing apparently, it has no alternater, heater or ac stuff..or power steering pump. Anyway im looking to get find all of that stuff to put back on it.My biggest problem right now is trying to deterrmine if the water pump is long or short style..i guess i dont know the difference by looking at em..altho im sure it something obvious, The block Casting no is 3951509 which translates to either a 70/71 2bm or a 74/75 4bm if aby of that matters, are the two types of pumps interchangeable.. I need to know this in order to get the correct mountig brackets fot the alternater..

Re: water pump

ok, the long pump will have some threaded bosses on the pass side in the front, and the back plate will be about 1/2-3/4" from the timing cover

the short pump will not have the bosses and will almost the touching the timing cover
