Ok this is what I have : 4 bolt block, camel hump heads,870 street avenger carb, 142 weiand blower and everything I need to have it put on.

Now I was wondering what kind of pistons, rods, crank, cam, ect I should run in it. I want to spray 100 shot of nitrous (nx kit). Where do i start? This will be droped in a 77 camaro with a turbo 400 tranny with manual valve body, 3500 stall, and a 10 bolt 8.5 rearend what gears should i run on the rearend?. This car will be driven in town fri and sat nights only and will be taken to the track every now and then. No highway driving or daily driven.

i would start with a beefer rear end.
what kind of boost you planning on?
i run a procharger F1 with nitrous on 18# boost.

 

I think your rear end will be fine. Thats the same rear thats in GN's that are running low 9's, high 8's. You will need a fordged bottom end though. And depending on what kind of boost you plan to run I would make the compression 8-8.5:1 so it can still be pump gas friendly.

 

Well I can tell you I have a 468 with a 177 that I have been running out in vegas. It has stock rods and crank (4 bolt main) vanolia blower pistons 8:1 Currently running about 5-7 lbs of boost. cam is 550 240@50 and 8.5 with 3:42's on 27 in tire. In a 74 camaro. 3800# w/me. I ran a 11.79 @113+ with a 1.63 60' suspension mods....caltracs and et streets and 90-10's. That said I plan on running a 100 shot with that setup next year and be real close to the 10's. Goin thru the traps at 5200ish.
