Valve cover breather

What is better the valve cover breather or a PCV?? All I know about PCV's is they have something to do with emissions which my car doesn't have.

Also how much of a difference does an evac kit make on a motor. It is a stroker kit on the street.

I run a breather on one side and PCV on the other. I once changed the PCV to a breather, so I was running two breathers. The car ran like absolute crap and had oil smoke coming out the exhaust. I quickly reinstalled my PCV and had no further issues.

I guess you just have to try either on your engine and see what it likes. In my case, my engine preferred the PCV. Yours might be okay with a couple of breathers.

The difference is that a PCV (Positive Crankcase Ventilation) actually sucks the blowby out of the engine where as a breather is just a vent. A PCV is always better. When you get into boosted engines you often need a vacuum pump to suck the blowby out as there is no vacuum to suck it out. Breather on one side and a PCV valve on the other is the "best" way to go. Before they figured out how to do PCV they used down tubes which went down into the airstream below the car to create a venturii effect and help suck the pressure out. Blowby with no PCV= oil leaks. The blowby will blow out seals, often the rear main which is the worst one All cars have some blowby and it gets worse the higher the RPM and the more miles on the engine.
