Post Subframe connectors?

I've read about guys making SFC's themselves and since I have my machining class I thought about making some of my own (part of our grade is elective work). I tried a net search and didn't prove to be helpfull at all.

I guess my question is should I not bother trying to fab some and just have someone intstall a set of manufactured ones? Our shop has Mig, Tig, heliarc welders, as well as Acetylene torches along with all the standard machining equipment (lathes, mills, shapers, grinders, radial arm drill press, etc). I read a post by Lowend that said if they aren't done correctly, you will rip apart your floor pan or something to that effect

If you think it is safe to make some on my own, does anyone know of plans I can use or do I just need to measure the center-to-center distance on the subframe bolts? I appreciate any help

If you are talking bolt on ...

Since they are so cheap, I'd just buy them. They are quite simple, but the stamped portion has enough bends in it to become a pain to make and try to fit up under the spring mount. BUT ... since you are looking for a project, go for it. Find a buddy who has them, measure them and make them. You won't regret the learning experience.
