Lowering an 80 z28

I think I got the back end all figured out.
New springs, shocks, bushings.

Front I'm not sure of how to do this.
New springs, shocks.....
Spindles??
Control arms??
steering components??

I will probably be getting an S10 manual steering box later down the line.

I will be running 17x8s in front, with 17x9.5s in back.

Thanks, Kevin

The cheapest way to lower it would be to cut the front springs. The bad thing about that is it's not the "correct" way. The bad thing is, you will be changing the ride geometry of your car.

The "proper" way is to get some drop spindles.

You could also change to a lighter front spring.

You could also put an airbag suspension in it and you could make it as low as you wanted, but that's not cheap.

Being that the car is over 20 years old, all the springs are probably worn out (if they've never been replaced). Because of this I wouldn't use cut springs.

i own a turbo, fuel injected small block 80 z28 and i hate the way that it rides. i love the way that it looks but the ride is terrible. i wanted to level out the car by dropping the rear end a little( 1.5 inches) and no i have a problem with ripping the mufflers off of the car. if you are going to lower the car at i i would recommened going to some sort of coil-over conversion. i know that they make kits that are not too much money. if you do shows it is good to have because you can slam the car to ground. my car has 275/60-r15 tires and fills the wheelwells very nicely.
HAPPY SCRAPING!!!!

Sounds like a pretty sick car. Waht kind of intake are you running? What size injectors? I would like to take on a project like this. Who did you have tune the ECM? Are you using a factory or did you go DFI? You must have on hell of a fuel pump. What kind of power are you pushing? How much boost? It must be putting out some sick numbers...........

i run 2 t-67 garett with hks wastegates, a ported L98 tpi intake, and i havent figured out the fuel system yet. i am hoping at around 600HP at the wheels. that is a conservative number considering that i plan on running around 12pounds of boost. i havent yet decided on what computer to use, it will probably be a DFI setup that i will tune at work. if you have any questions or comments on my setup than you can email me at turboz28@team.camaroz28.com.any questions that you or anyone else has i will answer happily "as long as i know the answer

I'm pretty interested in your setup and i'm a local massachusetts guy. I from Taunton and wanna check out your car cuz it sounds pretty sick. Maybe i can even help you turn some wrenches.... Maybe i've seen you before. I went out to Lakeville during the summer a few times. Whats your daily driver? anything about it i might remember or recognize?
