Are SS Clones an acceptable restoration approach?

I won't disagree with you there. But at least a 350 would be an appropriate displacement for an "SS".

Yeah, that's true, but who's looking? I'll prolly buy some of those "SS 327" badges for my car when I get around to it, because I'd rather the car be obviously a fake SS.
