Serpentine Belt Drive Help

Does anyone know if I can take the serpentine brackets and all the stuff from a mid to late 80s truck or Camaro 5.7 and bolt it to my 79 block? What issues will I run in to?

Should work fine, may need some spacers behind one or more pullies or brackets, maybe.

Re: Serpentine Belt Drive Help

Some of the truck kits will hit the hood in a 79 camaro. I like to use the 4.3 s10 kits from the blazers. They are almost free from the junkyards because there is 400million in the junkyards and most yards charge more for the truck stuff. If the tensioner is in the middle then it might be too high. Just look carefully first. I do lots of these swaps because v belts suck

Re: Serpentine Belt Drive Help

It will bolt up I used one on my 82 camaro from a 94 chevy truck, and I had about 2 inches of room, all I had to do was route the upper radiator hose different as well as change the alt wire from 2 to 1 wire. I liked it. I am now building a 350 for my 85 Z28 and I will be looking to do it again, but I am going to try and find one from a late model 3rd gen or a early to mid 4th gen this time.
