Roots supercharger on 454

Anyone run a holley powercharger or weiand pro street charger?

I am thinking of putting one on my 69 camaro 454.

Thoughts on which is better? I am leaning toward the weiand because it is available as a polished unit for only $80 more than the holley satin version.

Yes, I know they are both actually owned by Holley, but if they still offer both lines, what is the difference?

Any tips on parts matching? Cam suggestion? Carburetion?

I wouldnt get a Powercharger...I believe, at least in theory, the 250 Powercharger, 250 relates to the airflow or, ci..I cannot remember..but to me, thats not too much flow. Mine is the equivalent of the 420 megablower.

I like the Weiand setup, it doesnt look goofy like the Holley version and I think it outflows that blower..

damn..I cannot remember what the heck that # stands for..
now I'm going to be sitting here at work trying to remember..

Anyone...anyone....

I wouldn't get either, if you read, i thinks it's july's issue of hot rod magazine they fit the vortech Small block blower on a big block and make over 700 hp with it. It's a centrifical so it's a lot more efficient.

the number is the ci of air the blower moves per revolution.

A 250 powercharger would be fine if you're just looking for a strong street motor. Just something with even more torque than your average big-block that's not too crazy. Would also be great if you have a 454 and are looking to tow a BIG boat.
A heavily built/high rpm 454 would easily outrun the 250 in terms of air demand, though...
