Okay, went to roll the drivers side window down and it cranked down a few times then the handle started spinning but the window stopped going down. Took the handle off hoping the threads inside the handle were stripped but they weren't. The gear that the handle fits onto just spins. I took the passenger side handle off and I cant even move that one. I dont know if something can slip off, or if it is just broke. Jon

 

Replace the window regulator. They are available through most restoration suppliers.

 

So its broke.

 

Hey, mine did the same thing. Its about 1" from rolling all the way up and the handle just spins. I checked my regulator and I have a tooth missing from the big 1/2 moon gear about 1" from the end. I bought a regulator from ebay for 20.00 and Im waiting for it to arrive. You can find the for 10.00 - 30.00 on ebay. Just make sure you get the right one... either passenger side or drivers side. Also, this might be a good time to convert to power windows if its in your budget. Hope this helps. Keep her rollin brotha!

 

Thanks. I take a look at the teeth. I looked up the regulator in my year one magazine and the price was around $90.00. I will take a look at e-bay, or even the local parts store, I know I have seen a window regulator down there before, dont know if it will work on a 69 though.

 

Has anybody heard of these just slipping off before. How does one of these come out. I took out four bolts, looked like they were holding it in, but it still doesnt wan to come out.
