question about rear suspension on camaro
question about rear suspension on camaro
My camaro leans to the driver side. When you put the rear of car on jack stands (on the frame) The left rear tire doesn't sag as low as the right. Why is this? Also I replaced rear leaf springs (mono-leaf) and shocks today. It didn't help the lean at all, but it did set it up higher. The left front spring is weak also. Do you think the left front spring would make the car lean in the front and the BACK? Anyone went through this?
Thanks for any help.....

Sure it will. If the left front spring is sagging it will transfer enough weight to make that side sag in the rear also. There's a lot of weight on those front springs. It's pretty likely the left front is broken. Jack up the front so the springs can extend as much as possible and check to see if the left front is broken.
Hey Chad68 did your 68 come with Mono Leaf springs or did it already have MultiLeafs on it, I am in the process of buying leaves but I cant figure out whether I have to buy more crappy monos or if i can switch to Multi Leaf. My car also leans like hell i am going to replace both on my 68 coupe
Just for grins..............jack your car up and support it from the body. This way you can make sure your body isn't twisted. If its not............its a coil/leafspring problem. Also check all the body bushings......if you have some colapsed bushings........it will lean.
