Problem with my car ... ignition switch ???
to start off, i have a tilt column from a '79 camaro installed in my '73.
car has been working great .. got in it today to back out of the garage and it will not start ... almost seems like the key is not turning all the way forward to engage the ignition switch ..
i removed some of the lower dash trim, and dropped down the column .. i can see the rod moving as it move the key .. do not see anything jammed in there.
is that the ignition switch, the square box that mounts on the top side of the column where the rod goes in? is it possible it came apart inside and is now not making contact?
any ideas ??? hopefully this is a quick fix as i need to get the car out of the garage to get the xmas decorations out !!!!!!!!
thanks

nevermind .. i fixed it ... looks like the 2 bolts holding the switch on the column were loose and it slid forward just a little, just enough to not make contact when the key was turned to start.
