You are reading the body identification plate.

120 = time build code: are you sure it's not 12C? that would be 3rd week of December. 12D would be 4th week of Dec.

ST 6824237 = 1968(68) Pontiac (2) GTO Series (42) 2-dr hardtop (37)

TR 19 = interior trim color Aleutian Blue
LL upper and lower body color = Aleutian Blue all over

BF I think is assembly plant = Baltimore. If so, the 7th character in the VIN (upper left inst. panel, visible thru windshield) will be 'B'

I think the B30 indicates bucket seats, and something else.

One of the 6digit numbers is the body unit number.

I'm hazy on the other numbers.

Try Pontiac Historic Services.

http://www.phs-online.com/

For a nominal fee you'll get more info on your car than you wanted to know.

For a good Pontiac site that is geared towards GTOs, try

http://forums.performanceyears.com/6/ubb.x

PY is my site of choice and there are some really knowledgable people there. Now that some people are gone, it's fairly friendly also.

If you join, let me know.

It's really nothing that special at the moment.

It has a cam that for the life of me I can not remember the specs for. Performer Intake, reworked Q-jet, 6x heads with minor work, of course true dual exhaust, 3.08 rearend.

plans for the near future:

2.5 exhaust with headers by Doug
Performer RPM intake with the Blockers shaker kit
a set of 6x heads completely reworked.
Roller Rockers
different gears for the rearend
a reworked dist.

But since I have two small children - both under 4, money right now is rather tight so some things will have to wait.

And yours?
