I've helped witha monte carlo disc to chevelle drum swap and the only problem was corroded connector where the rubber flex line connects to the frame line. Other than that, easy.

Soak all connections ahead of time with wd40.

875 seems like a lot, but i guess if everything is new...I got my disc brakes off a 69 chevelle all used, but in good condition for 250 bucks. personally in california i find a lot of disc brake conversion kits on local classified web pages and in the classifieds for the newspaper for usually around 200-250. I guess its about priorities, if you want something that will just go right in all new stuff, pay a little extra money. All i had to do was buy a new master cylinder and a flaring kit to match up the brake lines to the new master cylinder, actually not too difficult.

If the kit Rick's is selling is the single piston calipers, then it won't be technically correct. So if it isn't, then you might as well go with the Master Power kit. I think they sell a rear conversion as well. You might be able to get a decent price on a full 4 wheel disc conversion.

Do a search on Camaro specialties out of NY. they used to have really good prices on fronts. If your looking to save money and not go original then forget the original 4 piston setups. they have to be converted to stainless pistons and thats a couple of bills right there.

Go over to www.camaros.net and look in the cars and parts section. Somebody has a front disc conversion for sale.

chevelle

i put the front disk brakes from a 70 chevelle on my 69 camaro. I hade to replace the distribution block and cut about 3/4" off the push rod from my 69 pedal to work with the master cylinder from the 70. Its all working great. Its not too hard if you know your way around the car. i got mine at a gm salvage yard complete for under 400.
If you were thinking of a new front sway bar now would be a good time to make that swap without any problems or banging up the paint.
