Performance improvements with a AL driveshaft?

I see a lot of guys talk about getting an Aluminum driveshaft for their 4th gen cars. My friend told me its because some were defective and caused vibrations above 70mph. I believe that part but woudn't going with a light driveshaft also improve performance by reducing rotating weight?

Do you think I'd see a noticeable acceleration gain by replacing my steel driveshaft with an Aluminum one?

Thanks for putting up with my curiosity

Yeah, but the improvement wouldnt be really noticeable because of its small actual diameter (not much rotational mass to begin with). Another reason to go alloy is that it does absorb drivetrain harmonics, which can help out with bearing wear and metal fatigue. Carbon shafts offer even more pluses with the exception of their cost.

supposedly they are suited more for HIGH speed driving.
cant say if i noticed anything, it is lighter, that would be the same as saying will aluminum drums help?
if it's your last mod to do, i'd say do it, but to do it to expect a seat of the pants feel, i highly doubt it.
the guy who did mine, charged me the same price as steel.

the diameter is something like 3.5" it's BIG
they will help with elminiating vibration though, or at least a little better.
i'd like carbon fiber, but you are talking big big bucks, at least the last time i saw them.
