Can you decode this rear axle code?
I think this is out of a 1986 Impala, the number I found is (8GF K044).... I can't find any codes that resemble this on the web. Is there a way to find out the ratio without counting the teeth?

As for the ratio, you can mark the yolk at 12:00, Then turn both axles at the same rate/time (if its an open diff) and count the amount of turns on the yolk. This will give you an approximate ratio. Well close enough to determine if its a 2.73, 3.08, 3.23, 3.31 or 3.42.
