No Spark!!

I have a 1979 camaro with a 355 in it and i just bought it and it needed a throttle cable and we put it on and it started up and drove for a few seconds and died, later it turns out that the pickup coil wires going to the coil came undone and now it has no spark, tried a new coil but nothing, it has a unilite distrutor and a accel super street coil, my ? is could i not have power to the coil or if the pickup coil is bad in the distrutor would that cause the coil to have no spark coming out of it?? Ned help, i appreciate and sugggestion and or helpful hints.

Thanx
Randy

check to make sure your fuse box is showing power...my moody *** 69 camaro will blow ignition fuses if the wind changes direction. Let me know if that isn't it...just take the ignition wire off and push it back in kind of hard if it isn't. I'm the king of electrical shorts. My camaro has put me through the school of hard knocks when it comes to electrical stuff.

what could have happened when the coil lost power it could have surged and blew a fuse. Mines done that except in a different way. Does it have HEI and are you using the stock ignition wire or have you rigged something up to work?

Is this the unilite comp 9000 series distributor? I had one. I had to get a q-tip and some windex and clean the electronic pic up lens at times. If you have this distributor....besure to clean both sides of the photo electronic eye. You actually should still get spark even if its dirty......but it won't run.
