Okay, I'm looking into buying an early 70s or mid 70s Camaro SS. Now, I'd like to buy the car in relatively good condition and have a body shop finish the exterior and pain. For the interior, do as much of it myself as I can and then take some of it to a professional. After this, I'd like to do an engine swap, transmission, and then the rear end. I don't know a lot about these cars, but I am doing a lot of research online. What engine swap, trasmission, rear end upgrades do you all recommend? I'd like to see 1/4mile times in the mid to low 13s. Any recommendations would be great! I dont really have a budget persay, but I'd like to keep the entire project below $15,000.
Thanks

If the Camaro you buy has a 350 and a posi rear end, you should easily achieve your goal by just building it up right. Auto or manual tansmission will also be up to the job, as long as it isn't a Saginaw 4-speed. Find the vehicle, then ask in here for suggestions on combinations and you will get plenty of good advice.
