Look in the trunk, around the rear windows and under the rear quarter panels for telltale signs of rust.
Other than that, for under $11k, your not going to be finding many cherry numbers matching cars, so just make sure the motor and tranny are strong.
Check out http://www.collectorcartraderonline.com as one possible source

Make sure the title is clean also...check for leins (not many on old cars but just be sure to look).
Unless you're looking for a major project I wouldn't get a junker...get you something that runs (or something that you can keep running) and enjoy it. Camaro's are no fun sitting still in the garage.
When I started looking for one I wanted a rust bucket 6 year long project car and I was finally convenced to buy a 7 out of 10 car. I'm saving up to do some work on it, but I can cruise around and enjoy it while I'm saving.
Take your time and don't be fooled into paying to much for a car held together with putty and paint.

Pretty clean.
Those are the ones I am looking at - collector car trader is on autotrader.com but I am going to look at the other one.
This is a stupid question......gas - stock motors 327 need regular gas right? What do you do - use a fuel additive?

The 1.94 heads (210 HP 327 ci) will run on regular gas. The 2.02 heads (275 HP 327 ci, 350, 396, 302 etc.) will probably run better on premium.
I use the CD-2 super concentrated lead additive.
Definitely stay away from rust, especially around windows and any other area that is not easily replaced. If it's just on a front fender, hood, trunklid, etc. then it wouldn't be all that terrible to replace, but I'd still just try to avoid any rust at all cost. I've got terrible rust under the paint around my windows and windshield, and all of that metal will probably need to be removed and new metal welded in place.
It's a nightmare.
