Post need help pontiac 400

Just got my 67 bird about 3 weeks ago. was running fine until yesterday. It started running rough and then it just wouldn't start. Starter is turning over. but won't crank. Ive checked my plugs and they were fouled so I replaced them. Also replaced distributer and rotor. Im getting a spark and i can smell the gas on the plugs but again it wont start. it has a quadrajet card also. Any recomendations on what to check so i can get it running. Any help is appreciated.
Thanks
Sean

Sounds like your carb is flooding. A couple of possible causes: 1. the choke mechanism is out of whack. Tie it open and see if problem goes away. 2. there is a piece of dirt in the inlet needle. Look down the throats after a few cranks of the engine. If you see fuel dripping, #2 is prime suspect.

Thanks for the advice. I tied the choke open and it started up for me. Just gotta get used to working on it. Its definitely not like my 94 camaro.

Take the Q-jet off, send it to www.jetchip.com

http://www.jetchip.com/fuel/streetmaster750.cfm

They can restore it to better than new and improve the performance.
