May be getting 1995 350 for my car, help mods...
We found a 1995 350 that we are going to mod into a carbureted version of the same. I want to do a couple of mods while it's still out of the car, so I figured that you guys could help. I am on a limited budget, to say the least BUT, I am looking for a cam, headers, and new dual exhaust.
I was wondering what cam, headers, and exhaust you guys would suggest to put under my 1979 yellow and black Camaro? I have a friend who has a beefy 350 in his 78 model, and he has flowmasters with turndowns, behind some headers, and I love the sound. His headers are already starting to rust out though... I know there is stuff to do about that, but what is my best bet to keep from them rusting out? I plan on having the car a little while, unless I decide to buy something newer - which may or may not happen. GImme your opinions! I am thinking hooker or heddman in front of Dynomax mufflers, but I figure that might be a little too loud for someone like me, who has problems keeping my foot out of it.

for cam selection, we'll need to know what you do with the car, where you want you poweband, what trans and what stall converter (for auto trans), your gears, etc.
I would look into a set of Vortec heads, they are cheap and good power makers. Just make sure you get the intake designed for them (there are several)
As for headers, spring for jet hot or a similar ceramic coating, and make sure they are coated inside and out.
I have flowmasters on my 1st gen an they soun pretty good, though not as deep as I would like. But mine is a big block car with a mild cam and pipes out the back

As for your inqueries about the stuff you need for the cam...
I have a turbo 350, which I am getting a new rear end for christmas I think, and I wanna redo my torque converter after... But I am gunna buy a new engine with my Christmas cash, and then maybe the Vortec heads (depending on my $$$).
