Low Mount Alternator brackets

I need real world answers for a friend of mines. He has a stock chassis '68 Camaro. He wants to run a drivers side low mount alternator bracket. There are no solid answers as to which brand will fit without modifications. Is anyone here using that type of bracket? Thanks in advance.

I would think that a low mount alternator bracket on the driver's side would fit - without any problems, as these cars had the option of power steering, and the pump would have been mounted in this location. I understand your friend's concern, with the gear box. You want to contact March or possibly Vintage air, as I know that both Companies, manufacture brackets.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the reply. He's recieved mixed responses so far. He was looking at Mr.Gaskets mount but the owner of our local speed shop said the alternator won't clear without notching the frame. The sales rep from Doug Herbert said it would fit and that it will sit in the same location as the power steering pump would be. I'm gonna try and make a few calls myself and see what they say. I was hoping maybe someone here was running that type of mount and would know for sure what works. Thanks again.
